Reports of auto-dialer call attempting to obtain private information

There are a number of reports from customers and non-customers of Wells Fargo Bank indicating that an auto-dialer phone call is asking people to verify personal information.  This is a fraud attempted--called a "vishing" attack--wherein the caller attempts to obtain sufficient information to perpetrate fraudulent transactions or to commit ID theft.  This auto-dialer is not from Wells Fargo Bank.  If you receive such a call, simply hang up and ignore the message.  Wells Fargo, as with any bank, does not seek to obtain personal information in this manner.

If you have offered information to "reactive your account," please contact us immediately so we may assist you in monitoring your accounts for fraudulent activity.
